Back in Satellite Beach

Dotted line path showing clockwise journey around Florida, and the locations where we stopped each evening.

We arrived home at our dock in Satellite Beach at 5:04pm.
Heading south.

Long but good day motoring up the east coast of Florida. Left Manatee Pocket this morning at 7:22am (DST now). 69 nautical mile run. At 3pm a helicopter buzzed over head; we were doing 12.5 knots and the winds were westerly at 25 knots gusting over 30. Helo had BOATPIX.COM painted on each side. Think they got some nice 'action' shots of us...but don't think we're going pay $250 per hardcopy 16x20 inch photo or $500 for the digital file (they don't post them online).
Lot of spray on the port side while underway today.

So, for our trip around Florida, we logged 719.7 nautical miles; 131 engine hours on the Yamaha 150; 3 hours on the Yamaha 8.

First post on this journey, start here:

South Florida mini-circumnavigation

We ran the little Yamaha 8 during three occasions: 1st during the flat calm day up Florida Bay to Flamingo; 2nd time in the Caloosahatchee River before locking thru the Franklin lock; 3rd time in the St. Lucie canal on the way to Indiantown. Good freshwater flush on the last two uses! We were not pushing the engine but she still gave us 4.5 to 4.8 knots.

Melbourne causeway bridge--almost home.
